Author: Og Mandino
Publisher: Bantam Books
Publication date: 1968
Pages: 111
Synopsis:
This book is about a shepherd boy who suddenly wants to become a trader after being a shepherd for a big merchant. Delivered his intention to his master, the cash was shocked and asked the reason. When the answer is because he fell in love with a beautiful princess, then the Master agreed to his wishes because the impulse of love must not be wrong.
The first test was to sell luxury robes in Bethlehem, where residents thought buying robes was a luxury. What's more, fancy robes? Did the child succeed in his soul just a human who was easy to pity? Isn't trading is the calculation to get the maximum profit as taught in economic principles? After the sign that emerged from him after his first assignment in Bethlehem with the protection of the stars who followed him throughout the night, why was he worthy of teaching ten parchments and inheriting them at once?
Chapter 1:
In this chapter, it explains about every day someone is born again. He can forget past failures. Habits are the difference between success and failure. Therefore to achieve success, it is necessary to form good habits and become their slaves. This first chapter teaches the best way to learn meaning from others. Each successive chapter will contain principles that allow readers to change bad habits well.
Chapter 2:
In this chapter, the author explains that love can be the seller's greatest weapon, for even if people reject many special things about salesman's wares, love will soften them. Love can be developed by always looking for the best in people. Every time we meet someone, we must state to ourselves, "I love you." But to love others, we must love ourselves, treat ourselves with respect, and not be satisfied with anything but our best efforts.
Chapter 3:
In this chapter, the author embeds the phrase "I will survive until I succeed." And telling people to be born to succeed, not fail. Defeat will not occur if considered, and words such as stop, can not, can not, and can not not be part of the part that is growing vocabulary. Every failure moves a man closer to success. When the day ends and the seller wants to stop, he has to force himself to make one more sale; to end the day with success.
Chapter 4:
In this chapter the author explains about people as the greatest miracle of nature. Everyone is different in appearance and ability, and we must use, rather than insult, this is a difference. We must concentrate on the task at hand, not let ourselves be preoccupied with the problems of the house while in the market, or on the market when we are at home. Each of us has eyes to see, ears to hear, and thoughts to think about. This is everything we need to develop.
